Beth Broome is a design writer and editor who most recently served as longtime managing editor of Architectural Record, the 130-year-old award-winning magazine where she oversaw day-to-day operations and production, curated and developed editorial themes, and wrote about architecture, design, and urbanism. Her work has covered a wide range of architectural types and scales, including private residences, affordable housing, hospitality and retail, landscape, adaptive reuse, and large institutional projects, like university buildings and museums. In her role she also directed video and helped produce live events, from regional symposia to international conferences. Prior to Architectural Record, she was the managing editor of The New York Observer, where she covered society and culture.
